Kheerganga, where Lord Shiva was said to have meditated for 3000 years, is a peaceful and spiritual place in the Parvati Valley. Kheerganga Trek comes under one of the most popular treks in India.

The trek is of 13km long trek which takes 7-8 hours to get complete.
This amazing trek starts from Barshaini village – a small village, where Tosh and Parvati river meets is the starting point of the trek. From Barshaini to Kheerganga the trek is 12 km. The trail is a gentle incline lined with beautiful apple orchards. You will see massive deodars and oak forests during the trek. Along our way to Kheerganga trek, you will get a chance to explore Naktan Village and Rudraprayag village – small hamlets perfect for the stops where you will get a chance to interact with the locals and know about the local culture.

It is advised to book your tour with an experienced tour operator. There a lot of private camping agencies at different places in Kheerganga. Always carry-in flashlight and torches with extra batteries.

After reaching Kheerganga, you will be straight ahead to the Parvati Kund which is famous for hot springs, take bath in the hot waters relax your sore muscles. The best time to visit Kheerganga is in summer as well as in Winters. From April to November. The temperature in summers goes up to 45 degrees and In Winters the temperature goes in negatives and snowfall is very common. It is advisable to avoid trekking during the monsoon season as the trail gets slippery, muddy, and risky due to heavy rains.

You will find so many cafes, tea spots, and restaurants during the trek. Most of the crowd that lives around Kheerganga is Israeli. The restaurants serving foreign cuisines like Israeli, German, and Chinese. The food will also be expensive. You will easily find noodles, tea, and coffee in hilly areas.

To start this trek, first, you have to reach Bhuntar. The easiest way to reach Bhuntar is to take a direct bus to Bhuntar from Delhi, Chandigarh and all Manali Route. From Bhuntar take a bus for Barshaini.
